In the absence of colour, the magic of light and shadow unfolds in all its beauty.

Black, white and every shade of grey in between. Shapes, textures and surfaces – all defined by light and its reflection. Sometimes soft and dark, and then bright and shining again.
The essence and the beauty of black-and-white photography lies in painting with light.

When done with dedication, photography goes far beyond mere representation

Look

It’s your attitude that counts, not the technology. Be open and friendly, and take notice of the little things that others might overlook. Your perception is the key to those special moments.

Pause

Take your time, so that you’re ready when the moment comes. Breathe deeply and relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. Then it will unfold before you – that decisive moment.

Capture

A brief glance, a fleeting movement, a warm smile, or even tears. When you press the shutter button, you capture a story. It may be obvious – or perhaps only apparent at second glance.

Is this art ?

I have a passion for photography, particularly street photography.
The latter inevitably takes place in public spaces and often captures moments and situations involving people who are unaware that they are being photographed.

Far be it from me to deliberately cause anyone harm.
Street photography is a form of art and artistic expression that has existed since the very beginnings of photography. It does not merely capture specific moments; it bears witness to the times, to history, and to a love of people.

It is precisely this perspective that I aim to convey through my photographs – with respect, dedication and gratitude for the human beings featured in them.
